Bill Pullman replaces William Hurt in "The Coldest Game"

Bill Pullman has joined the cast of "The Coldest Game" shot in Warsaw. He will portray the film's protagonist – Joshua Mansky.
"The Coldest Game" is the latest film by Watchout Studio, credited for such Polish features as "Gods" and "The Art of Loving. The Story of Michalina Wisłocka".
The shooting has started in February in Warsaw, and Palace of Culture and Science, the city's most recognizable landmark, serves as a ground for chess game where saving humanity from nuclear annihilation is at stake. William Hurt has been cast as the chess master Joshua Mansky but had to pull of the film having suffered an off-set accident just a few days into shooting.
Therefore Bill Pullman takes over the role. He is an acclaimed film and theatre actor, with over 90 exceptional roles under his belt. He is famous for such films as: "Independence Day", "Lost Highway", "Sleepless in Seattle", or Mel Brooks's "Spaceballs". Pullman has worked with i.a. David Lynch, Lawrence Kasdan, Nora Ephron, and Rob Reiner. He was honored with the Excellence Award at the Locarno Film Festival. Lately he was nominated for Critics Choice Award for his portrayal of the detective Harry Ambrose in the Golden Globe nominated, lauded crime series "The Sinner". His second passion, right after acting, is construction, which he studied in college. He uses his technical abilities by working for local communities. He built a barn, which serves as headquarters for a community center. Bill Pullman works with Cornerstone Theatre in Los Angeles and Concerned Citizens organization from Montana. He also actively supports St. James Hospital as well as Alfred University, both from his hometown – Hornell, New York.
Watchout Studio alongside producer Daniel Baur from K5 with the support of ICM Partners were able to re-cast the lead role with Bill Pullmann at short notice and to adjust the shooting schedule accordingly. Thanks for the whole team's commitment, after merely three-day break, the shooting has resumed in accordance with the original schedule.

Bill Pullman will be accompanied on the screen by Lotte Verbeek ("Nothing Personal", "Outlander", "The Borgias"), Corey Johnson ("Captain Phillips", "The Bourne Ultimatum", "The Mummy"), Aleksey Serebryakov ("Leviathan"), and Robert Więckiewicz ("The Mighty Angel"). Allan Starski ("Schindler’s List", "Washington Square", "Oliver Twist") is responsible for art direction and Paweł Edelman ("The Pianist", "The Ghost Writer", "Walesa: Man of Hope") for cinematography.
The film is shot from February to April 2018, and is planned for release in 2019. The partners of the film are the capital city of Warsaw and the Management Board of the Palace of Culture and Science. The film is co-financed by the Polish Film Institute. Hyde Park Entertainment Group is the international sales agent. The worldwide distribution is coordinated by K5 International, and the Polish distribution by Next Film.
