About location

The central part of the right-bank Warsaw is called Praga. It survived war and for a long time it was considered a squalid and dangerous neighbourhood. It is known for its yard chapels; around 100 of them survived to the present day. Until the Warsaw Uprising such chapels could have been found throughout the whole capital. Most of them come from the Second World War, when entering a church posed a mortal danger.
